Meet Audiology Associates of Georgia
Laura Dennison
Au.D., BC-HIS
Dr. Laura Dennison opened Audiology Associates of Georgia in 1988 and has helped thousands of people hear well again in that time. She has a passion for helping her patients improve their quality of life through better hearing and strives to enrich each patient's life through the best technology possible.
She is also heavily involved with a hearing aid charity foundation she founded in 1998 called Hearts for Hearing. Through donations from patients, grants, and her own hard work, she has successfully fit thousands of impoverished children and adults in the Dominican Republic with hearing aids, providing them with the gift of hearing that is so often taken for granted.
Dr. Laura’s own kids, Katy and Will, have also joined the company and to her great pleasure, have turned Audiology Associates of Georgia in to a family owned and operated business. (see below for their bios)
Stan Warner
Hearing Instrument Specialist, Licensed Hearing Aid Dealer
HADS000776
Stan joined our practice in November of 2009, though he’s been a Hearing Instrument Specialist in the State of Georgia since 2005. Stan has a severe hearing loss stemming from being given a high dose of antibiotics when he was an infant. The dose was so strong that it stripped him of much of his hearing ability. He has worn hearing instruments since the age of 5 and thus has a strong empathy for the hearing loss that our patients face every day. Stan is always excited about new products that will help people hear better as he has witnessed the transformation in technology hearing aids have made over the decades he’s been wearing them.
Along with his passion for helping others hear better, he is also actively involved in his church and the community. On the weekends in the warm weather, you can usually find him with his lovely wife and his grandchildren, cruising around Lake Lanier on the family boat.
Will Dennison
Will never envisioned himself following in his mom’s footsteps growing up – in fact, he never even considered doing such a thing as a child and young adult. He always admired her ability to help people hear better and the connections with patients she made along the way, but his childhood dream had always been to be a high school history teacher, which he became after graduating with his Masters of Arts in Teaching at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, GA. After teaching for five years, he decided it was no longer what he had a passion for and found that what he actually was being driven towards was just what he thought he would never do – follow in his mom’s footsteps in audiology. Will joins the company in June of 2011 and will work closely with Dr. Dennison, as she takes him under her wing and teaches him everything she knows so he can carry on the family legacy. During this time, he will work towards becoming a licensed dispenser and testing/fitting patients with the best hearing aids to suit their needs.
Katy Dennison
Director of Operations
Katy, just like her brother, Will, never thought she would work with her mom when she grew up. Katy got her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Georgia College& State University and immediately began working after college at an art consulting firm in Atlanta, providing artwork to high end hotels. When the economy took a downturn and the company she was working for fell apart, she was considering a big life changing move across the country when Dr. Laura (or Mom, as Katy likes to call her) begged her to come work with her in the summer of 2009. The situation was meant to be temporary, but Katy soon found a passion for her work and began leading the team to grow the practice. “To be able to work so closely with my mom is a gift. To see her every day and help her grow this practice to what she has always envisioned is a powerful experience and one I can’t imagine leaving anytime soon. Life is so short, and to be able to have the relationship with my mom that I have is incredibly special.”
Cindi Palmer
Patient Recall Specialist
Cindi joined the practice in September 2010 to help maintain contact with our special patients. We strongly believe that patients need to be seen every year for a routine hearing evaluation to make sure their hearing aids are still fitting their prescription and make any adjustments necessary. She is responsible for staying in touch with our patients on a regular basis and will contact you when it is time to come back to the office for your routine checkups and annual hearing tests. She may even call to inform you when something new and exciting has happened in our industry. Cindi’s office is located in the back of the Lilburn location, but she loves meeting the people she’s talked to on the phone and makes an effort to introduce herself when the appointment time comes around. Cindi prides herself on her excellent customer service skills and truly enjoys the relationships she builds with the customers of Audiology Associates of Georgia. When she’s not working, Cindi loves spending time with her family, which includes 21-year old son, Matthew, 18-year old daughter Paige, and her husband Scott.
Cheryl Hughes
Cheryl joined the practice in March of 2011 as Gainesville’s Front Office Person (otherwise known as the smiling face at the front desk) and enjoys making a positive impact on a patient’s experience when they call or visit our office. With many years experience in customer service, this job offers a more personal connection to the customers and Cheryl truly enjoys meeting everyone that walks through our doors and building a great relationship that will make them feel comfortable to come back for years to come. Cheryl has a precious 8-year old daughter named Kaitlin whom she loves spending time with.
Regina Medler
Regina joined us in June of 2011 as Lilburn's Front Office Person and is the friendly voice on the phone and smiling face at the front desk. Regina has a background in ophthalmology and has found the transition to audiology to be a fun and challenging experience and enjoys learning new things all the time. She comes to us with many years experience in customer service and truly enjoys building relationships with patients, new and old, all the time. Her warm kindness and positive attitude put everyone in a good mood so we are very happy to have her! Regina is married to her husband, Chris, and together they have three daughters and five grandchildren whom she loves spending her time with.
